Description:

1.5″ x 2″ oblong metal medallion. Obverse “1856, 2000 Turner” with logo. Card that says: “Plainsman of the Northern Star. *Trade Fair 2004 medallion. Reverse features a motif used by New Ulm’s Turner Hall until the early 1900s. On reverse engraving of northern star; “Plainsman of the Northern Star.” Motif created with merged letters of F, F, S, and T. F= Frei (free); S = Strong (stark); [backwards] F = Fresh (frisch); T = True (treu). During the mid 1850s, “Workers Gymnastic League” of Germany originated this motif. In 1933, the Association went into dissolution in Germany. New Ulm’s Turner Hall was founded in 1856. *Trade fair held on March 14-15th at Turner Hall.”
